THE PARTICIPATIVE PRACTICE

The participative practice of Nucleo Creativo Territoriale studies the transformative possibility of living art in the territory in which it operates. It develops as a daily appointment in the public space: a structure of performative actions capable of directly involving the spectator in a shared practice on the streets of the city. The intent is to recover and redeem the potential of participation and the quality of the meeting.

Participatory Practice focuses on deep listening, exposure and total availability of the Territorial Artist. Through shared micro-actions it generates semantic shifts, overlaps, harmonies, disharmonies in the invisible border that separates art and life. The emotional and physical positioning in the public space opens up spaces of freedom, builds the foundations for a humble, human and collective change.
It is not a show but a different way of being together.

The performative structure comes to life in the Barriera district of Milan in the relationship with the surrounding environment. We were interested in recognizing the peculiarities of the performer in the link between the internal territory (body, emotions, sensations, perceptions…) and the external territory (sounds, lights, conversations, encounters, displacements…). The sensitive coexistence of the territories in the performer's body has made it possible to draw on a layer of permeability where internal and external merge, in public space / time, creating spaces of freedom. The next step was to make these practical actions simple, dynamic and participatory (i.e. accessible to people of all ages, nationalities and cultures).

The Participative Practice is conducted by Vicente Cabrera, Camilla Sandri Bellezza and
Sara Loi.
